Intellectual property, particularly trademarks and designs/registered designs, represent essential assets for companies and are an indispensable component of business success across all industries.
The European Commission therefore supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in building appropriate protection portfolios through financial support for the filing of intellectual property rights. To this end, the so-called SME Fund "Ideas Powered for Business" has been established for 2024 as well—a grant program for SMEs in the EU designed to help these companies protect their intellectual property rights.
The SME Fund will be implemented by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) from 22 January 2024 to 6 December 2024.
The SME Fund offers four different vouchers that can be used to apply for reimbursement of various costs associated with the acquisition of intellectual property. The SME Fund is particularly applicable to the filing of trademarks and designs/registered designs.
Details regarding the nature and scope of the funding, as well as the eligibility requirements, can be found here: https://www.euipo.europa.eu/de/discover-ip/sme-fund/overview.
In addition, our attorneys would be pleased to assist you with any questions regarding the protection of your trademarks and designs/registered designs.
